Kawasan Kota Lama is a bussiness center in Semarang City on around of 18 centuries. In that time, to secure the citizens and thier territory, so in that area was been built a fortress, that called VIJHOEK fortress. To increased the accessibility between the three gates in that fortress so it been made the connection road, with the main road called HEEREN STRAAT, now as known as Jl. Let Jen Soeprapto. One of the gates that still stands until now is Berok Bridge or DE ZUIDER POR.

Kawasan Kota Lama is a silent witness of Indonesian history during the Dutch’s colonial for more than two centuries, and it is located beside the economic area in Semarang. There is 50 ancient buildings in this place that still stand and have a Colonialism History in Semarang.
Kota Lama Semarang is the historical area with its ancient buildings that has potential source to be learned and enjoyed as the conservative for tourism.

Kawasan Kota Lama has a function to support the main concept, which is Come, Enjoy, and Invest. In the progress of Semarang the Beauty of Asia, Kota Lama itself needs a few touch to support that main concept. Kota Lama Semarang is the historical area with its ancient buildings that now protected by Law as a cultural area. So the development concepts can’t change the building structure. Development and planning intervention of Kota Lama just can be done outside or inside the building by following the existing rules.
